No: Spar and Billa run their own deals in each of the five cities. This week every city gets more than 60 deals from the regional edition rather than the national one, and from now on mitbringen counts them in Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Innsbruck just as it does in Vienna.

Why your deal depends on your city

Map of Austria with five pins at the real locations of Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Graz; Graz is highlighted in lime green.

In each of the five cities, more than 60 Spar, Billa and Billa Plus deals this week come from the regional edition rather than the national one. Most deals are the same everywhere, but the chains swap them by region, mostly beer.

Hofer and Lidl run the same deals across Austria. That is why the cheapest store for the same list can change from city to city.

Supermarket deals in Vienna

How to set your city

Real screenshot of the mitbringen app: the city picker is open, listing Wien, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Innsbruck.

You pick your city in two steps, and the prices on your list switch right away. Open Profile in the app, tap City and choose Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg or Innsbruck.

Other cities are not available yet. Here is what a grocery price comparison app should do. Cans carry a 25-cent deposit on top, and when pack sizes differ it helps to compare the price per litre.
